NEW DELHI/ MUMBAI:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi
on Wednesday urged the country’s top lenders to fund
, undeterred by the non-performing assets (NPAs) generated in the past, and promised to fully back the executives.
During the meet, Modi also prodded
to push loans to micro, small and
(MSMEs), farmers, micro-finance institutions and non-banking finance companies, which were provided special thrust during the package announced by finance minister
two months ago.
The Prime Minister reassured the assembled bankers that he was strongly behind them and they should not have any fear. He added that no banker was in jail for taking a decision in the course of his duty.
