Parliament passes 124th Amendment Bill
- On 9 January 2019, the Rajya Sabha passed the 124th Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2019.
- The bill seeks to provide a 10% reservation in government jobs and admission in educational institutions to economically backward people among upper castes.
- The Bill will amend the article 15 and 16 of the constitution of India.
- The Bill was passed in Lok Sabha on 8 January 2019.
