Toxic air killed over 1 lakh children in India
  • The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released a report titled ‘Air Pollution and Child Health: Prescribing Clean Air’.
  • Over 1.25 lakh children in India below the age of five died in 2016 due to the impact of polluted air.
  • The report said household air pollution from cooking and ambient air pollution caused more than 50% of acute lower respiratory infections in children under 5 years.
